What are DaVinci Veneers?
Generically known as laminate veneers, these thin shells (i.e. veneers) of porcelain, pressed ceramic or composite are cemented over the teeth to modify the color, shape or alignment or restore chipped teeth.
To avoid any confusion, it must be noted that there is a dental lab with the name DaVinci Studios that makes the laminate veneers that have been used on makeover shows on television. That is why the procedure is labeled DaVinci Veneers.
The shows on television and DaVinci Studios deserve a lot of credit for highlighting the great contribution dentistry can make to both a person's appearance and self-esteem. Although everyone does not meet the criteria for placement of porcelain veneers, the fundamental knowledge that there are options out there for people who want to change their smile is welcome.
